Instructions on how to use BlackR1an RC3 and BlackSn0w RC1 on a Mac or Windows

If you want a custom firmware [PwnageTool(Mac only)] or download a [custom] firmware Windows and Mac. Enter DFU and restore. 3gs must enter recovery mode to work not DFU.

Step 1

Windows

CONTROL + ALT + Delete and enter task manager

Force Quit iTunes and iTunes Helper and iPod Helper

Mac

Locate /Applications/Utilities/ Activity Monitor.app
Force Quit iTunes and iTunes Helper

Step 2

Windows

place Blackra1n.exe in c:/ and run as administrator

Mac

Launch Blackra1n.app

Step 3

Windows and Mac click on make it ra1n

Step 4

Windows and Mac wait to enter recovery

Step 5

Windows and Mac done wait for reboot

Tap on blackra1n

Step 8

Select Cydia and/or Rock to install on your Phone if you want to unlock continue if not thats it you are done
recommended to install cydia

Step 9 Unlock

Select sn0w and install it and wait for on screen information. That is it you are done with unlocking the iphone.

Troubleshooting

• turn on and off the airplane mode
• reset network settings
• if your sim doesn’t support 3g turn it off
